The MDU 2009 Communication Skills for Doctors Workshops

The MDU Communication Skills for Doctors Workshops explore alternative and practical ways of thinking about communication with patients and colleagues. The workshops are fully interactive and feature small group role-play sessions.

Good communication skills are essential for maintaining a high standard of patient care. Poor communication can lead to patient dissatisfaction, difficult working environments and complaints.

MDU data shows that miscommunication is a feature in a large proportion of clinical negligence cases; communication skills training is therefore a key preventive measure in reducing the risk of litigation in medical practice.
