The MDU 2010 Communication Skills for Doctors Workshops

Good communication skills are essential for maintaining a high standard of patient care and the success of many doctor-patient relationships depends on our ability to communicate effectively.

MDU data shows that miscommunication is a feature in a large proportion of clinical negligence cases; communication skills training is therefore a key preventive measure in reducing the risk of litigation in medical practice.

The MDU Communication Skills for Doctors Workshops explore alternative and practical ways of thinking about communication with patients and colleagues. The workshops are fully interactive and give participants the chance to be filmed and receive feedback on their skills.
