The DDU Dento-legal and risk management CPD course


The GDC recommends you keep yourself up-to-date by undertaking CPD in legal and ethical issues, and in complaints handling.

The DDU Dento-legal and risk management CPD course provides six hours of verifiable CPD and has been developed to cover all three areas providing delegates with the necessary knowledge to review and improve the quality of their services.

The course is interactive and encourages delegate participation through group discussion. Areas covered include:

  • assessing and managing risk in dental practice
  • good record keeping
  • confidentiality and consent
  • complaints
  • legal guidelines affecting dental practice

The course will be held at the DDU Head Office in London

How much

Course fees include: one complimentary place for a dental care professional*, who is a DDU member, when accompanied by a full paying delegate; course materials; lunch and refreshments.

Complimentary places for Dental Care Professionals (DCPs)*

All DCPs are expected to undertake 150 hours of CPD over a five-year cycle and a minimum of 50 hours must be verifiable. You will be pleased to know that the DDU is offering every full paying delegate one complimentary place for a DCP that is a DDU member.

If a DCP is not a member of the DDU and would like to apply to join, simply download a membership application form and guide.

*A DCP is a dental nurse, dental hygienist/therapist, dental technician, clinical dental technician or an orthodontic therapist.
